Back on the Journey!!

Well the reason why I am updating this is because I have just submitted my draft practice thesis to my supervisor, while waiting for his feedback, I am currently free cz I not usually have any lab work on Tuesday or Thursday recently..

Well, currently being carrying out field experiment, schedule would be putting out surface on Wednesday, collecting sample on Friday and Monday for analysis..need to do 4 hours of confocal mciroscopy right after that..that what i have been doing recently..and have been working on practice thesis too..well...keep writing..until everyone is satisfy..

Well, lets talk about a lifelong injury that I have just gained from my last volleyball tournament down in Canberra last Nov 2008. I had a direct knee to knee contact with another player in second game, since then I can never walk properly for the next 2 weeks..never get out of the house for 2 whoel weeks. Doctor disgnosed I could have tear my anterior cruciate ligament..one and only way to fix it completely is operation, but I dun have time for rehabilitation after the operation, so dun think will do it..Been back to volleyball recently..have to be extremely careful when I play so that I wont hurt the same spot again, well unfortunately.have been hurting it everytime..but the pain level differ from time to time depends on the extent of pulling on the knee..

Well, have been thirsty for red bean soup..cooked it today cz i was too free..=P

Will be back again..dun worry wont be long this time!! =)

Get back on the rail?

Its fourth week after honours started, non of the things are getting right!

The research is still on its developmental stage, idea after idea, its just not working after all..how am I going to answer any question such as ' Is micro-textured surfaces affect microbial attachment and biofilm formation?'

The plan was looking into the microbial community that could attach to the surfaces, but I dun even know whether they are able to attach to the surface or not. Sounds acceptable? well Supervisors been away for a conference..hope things will be better when I discuss the issue with them..but right now, at least I am grabbing the mood to go back to lab. Stay in the lab for 15-16hours on friday, which is 'longest' period since I started honours...

Getting the mood to do something is reli important, most crucial thing to get something done! Anyway, cant wait to talk to my supervisor about my current situation and hope to get some clue where I should head to..

How I feel VS What I want?

Is there anyone who could tell me that they understand how I feel recently or what I want?

This is a really tricky question for myself too...I feel unsatisfy with my research, things getting into shape day after day, but still its not something worth happy for..cz its not solution after all..I feel lonely when I am alone, I feel depressed when I think of my research, I feel relief when I look at the sky, no matter its during the day time with clear blue sky or night sky..What else I could feel? Why I feel this way..the reason is easy, I wish I could share with someone..or anyone just because I couldn't find this 'someone' at the moment..sounds pathetic?

What I want? I wana go home, I wana do research, I wana eat alot of stuff..BUT there is always but..my careers is here in aus and not in Malaysia, I don't wana keep failing in research, I dun wana keep gaining weight..why I can't just do what I want without any thought of worrying..Why am hesitating of doing something that I like?

My medical examination shows I have low blood pressure on that day..I wont know whether I have it always but I do not have any symptom of developing that..someone told me I could have anemia..could feel dizzy easily...Somehow it reminds of my brother, a long lost brother who had anemia when he was 8years old..Am I sad in another mean?

Why am I saying all this, why am I talking nonsense..just because I don't understand myself good enough..Could anyone...lend me a hand to answer my question?

The loneliness and Homesickness

Having to leave home to study abroad might be a good start for a successful career, however, it could also leading into another end of the world for you in the other point of view.

Study and learning is a process to enrich and enhance one's skills and knowledge. You get to learn something that those staying back in the homeland will never get into touch with. You get to receive an exceptional experience. You will get to see something different. You will get to know someone you would never encounter in your lifetime if you stay home.

Leave home alone having to face the world by oneself is cruel for some people. Its something loneliness would fill most of the time, no matter how busy you are, you will get to the feeling of loneliness..Why would I felt so..Let me tell you some statistic, I have only seen my Grandma for 5days in 2008 up to date, its only 5 days!! well, it could be unforgetable but I would say its pathetic. I could only meet my mom and dad for 28 days in 2008. The rest will be having seeing them on my monitor through msn video chat. How cruel is that and how could that be. I am more of a person to be with family. it could also because I have no girlfriend in particular, causing me having too much time to think over and over again..

Looking at the sky is purely the best moment that I could have in Sydney..having a deep blue sky, seeing more colourful sky during evening is even a kind of enjoyment for me.

Volleyball doesn't bring me much of fun anymore, I do not join any competition, not being competitive is not much of a fun in playing sport for me. Just lack of the confidence, intention to play good volleyball anymore. Its somehow a kind of routine to play it just for health! Talk about health, I have just gone through a medical examination for the purpose of extending my student visa, some problem is I have LOW BLOOD Pressure..anyone know what could that cause me in terms of health problem? I am too lazy to google it at the moment..

Walking all the way up to Randwick from Uni when I got home just now..my thought of the day was - Will I be addicted to Coffee? I found it smells nice when I walk across a cafe, the aroma..

Philip Island - Penguin Parade (Day 4)

Waking up in the aroma of 'Pork Porridge with slices of Ginger', prepared by Shih Chin right before she went for work. Its a complete win and 100% breakfast! Had bowls after bowls of porridge while waiting for ZHi Yin and CHan Kit to wake up.

Today's schedule isnt that packed at all, penguin parade will only start at 1.30pm meeting point in CBD. Out of the house right before 12pm thanks to Zhi Yin. haha...ALright I am not gona keep complaining about Zhi Yin but she did reli woke up the last wor..and spent ages in the bathroom...Anyway..have to rush to CHinatown Provinct to get the plastic container of Zhi Yin which I left it in the German restaurant night before. Find it pretty easy to find in Melbourne CBD. Anyway this trip I have used the most of the time looking at maps..

Reached meeting point just on time..and get going in a huge bus taking up to 40 ppl..=='' Drive for almost an hour having a fantastic tour guide + driver + commentator..the beautiful voice causing Zhi Yin to fall asleep within a minute..Geng Mou?? First stop is a wild life farm, well its not reli fascinating yet beautiful view because its raining when we just got down from the Bus... pity us! Second stop is a Koala Conservation farm, with limited koala..4 in total if i am not mistaken..and there is like have to walk to a few miles just to spot them..omg..Nearly losing my patience too...

Now drive all the way to Philip Island, went pass Grandprix venue on the way, and get to the Penguin Parade Centre. Have a pretty cute picture of a Warning Sign of 'BEWARE of PENGUIN when U leave, cause some of the time the llittle penguin could get to the carpark area and just be much more care not to run over them'. Walking into the centre with heaps and heaps of souvenirs, but first and most important thing is to grab a good place to watch those little penguin from the beach. Waiting and waiting patiently for about 30min, first group of little penguins coming up from the water, BUT unfortunately its in the other far end of the watching tower..so its a bit of disappointment. Keep waiting for another 30min and there you go, PENGUINS!!!

Having look at those little penguins walking up the beach to go back to their nest..ALL of A SUDDEN, it rains heavily..forcing us to go under the cover, THE scene is more like we are the PENGUINs who walk slowly to look for cover since it is so much crowded...poor us, soaked in the rain and Wind = Shake! Not penguins, its US! Well, its not a bad idea of walking up the hill now back into the centre because there is plenty of penguins along the way, Just separated with those penguins in 5cm wired pathway...so its reli reli reli close to them.. CUTE!

Finished with penguins..another 2hrs drive to go back to Melbourne CBD. reached home around 10+, hmm...its time to PLan for tmr's itinerary!! Chapel St, Casino....

Holiday heatsss

Wake up in Day 2 of our trip, essential rest for another day of fun! Rest is never enough, somehow we have to get going because the pick up point for Great Ocean Road Tour is the other end of the Melbourne CBD, we started drinking our 3-in-1 Milo quicker and quicker..Luckily packing was done before we sleep..Shih Chin witnessed how we started lagging in everything and all of a sudden ---its 7.05am, our meeting time would be 7.45am..OMG

Step out of the house, and the building, eventually we felt strong chilling wind rushing past us and the only thing come into my mind would be - How warm is it in the house..?? Oh shit..there is still 2km to go to to the pickup point..we started walking in quicker pace..7.25am..another warning, we started running on the street like mad..haha

Well, in the end, we make it!! and Its 7.45am sharp!! BUT its critical cz I need a washroom!! reli reli in a hurry! somehow the tour guide, which I forgot his name at the moment (felt bad)..told me that he will pick up somebody else from elsewhere..and the next stop is --> tada...right in front of Shih Chin's place!!! WHY DO WE HAVE TO RUN AT ALL??? but anywhere the pickup point was decided when I booked the backpacker, we change our accom after all..cant blame anyone..what a waste? The next thing that interest me before we hit the road is we pick up a pretty girl who come from Netherland! a real pretty one..Zhi Yin being so bored cz I kept asking her how could I talk to her or take picture with her..lol Well we hit the road..starting with introduced ourselves to ppl sitting around..or else we will have to sing all the way...which we all don't want to..and we get to know a couple from England, they told me n ZY their travel story right before they come to this trip..reli interesting! They spent sometime back in New Zealand before they come to Melbourne just to save money to travel..next stop would be United Stated..what a cool experience!! Like it so much!! Having fun chatting with them..

Anyway, it will be 3 hours drive since we are heading to the far end of the Great Ocean Road, have a tea break at a small town, lunch in a place where Woolworth locked their washroom..forcing everyone to stay out of the washroom..poor us..Its not only me this time..so fair enough..I could say this out loudly I guess..haha Anyway..lunch --> Subway! with the bread that we have bought earlier! and I bought another can of baked bean which I cant finish..XP..Well we had our lunch in a place sort of like national park..had a short walk looking around for Kangaroo and Koala..and yes Indeed, we get to saw some of them, Kangaroo having a young jumping in and out of the mother's pouch! Reli nice seeing it..

After a short walk in the park, we have gotta get moving so that we could get to the Twelve apostle by sunset! So our first stop along the Great Ocaen Road would be a whale nursery beach where we can see the whale from the beach. We have one on that day! Its better than none and it reminds me of the Whale watching tour back in Port Macquarie in Summer 2007, its a complete disaster where the sea was so rough and can hardly see any whale, and u r more likely to guaranteed a chance of vomitting rather than seeing whale! Back to G.O.R., even though its raining and windy, we kept looking for about 20min and then head to another spot.

Along the coastline of GOR, we went to couple of beauiful spot for look out, including london bridge..listen to stories, and we finally came to the Twelve Apostle! Its not twelve of them I would verify here, and its not bcz some have fallen either, just because its the name of it for commercila purposes..originally it have 13 after all, some have colapsed, and some new one are being creating by the nature all these while..The view was reli fantastic! Sunset of Twelve Apostle finally make our day! Right after sunset, we stay there for a chance to look at little penguin coming up to the shoreline, although its raining and VERY VERY windy, we did stay there until the penguin appeared. The wind was so strong and kept blowing the rain onto our faces, I felt like hit by bullets...Its quite painful and chilling I would say..but Its a real good experience and a good chance to train ourselves to combat cold condition (cz we will go to Tasmania later on).

The sun is down, we head to the accomodation, we spent sometime in the kitchen, most of the people were busy cutting onion, cucumber, feta cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes for the salad, while some others were cooking pasta, Todd which is our Tour guide (if I am not mistaken...=) ) was preparing the steak, chicken, and some sausages. Me and ZY CK were chatting with others (Alex from ANU, and Zhi Yun from Sg, hope I am not wrong again..cz I am bad in remember names..) Its the fun bit where everyone were staying in the kitchen or around it to talk and cheers while preparing dinner, its reli wonderful to have so many ppl from different background. There were a few couples from England, Canada, German and Singapore, some other coming from Netherland, and a guy from Spain! Well that night was spent in cheers and chats....another highlights of the night, Zhi Yin and Chan Kit were both having a cold water bath since they were too lazy to take bath and in the end the hot water was finished by others!

Some of the pictures have been uploaded onto facebook photo album: (use the link below)http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=47804&l=56d11&id=659450798

Day 3 of the trips: We continue to explore along the Great Ocean Road, having more and more great spot for photo, having blow by the wind for another day, luckily it wasnt rain..We head to the twelve apostle again to have a view on it under the strong daylight..as the trip goes on, we went for a detour - a helicopter ride! We fly high into the sky and look down to the Twelve apostle from high up! Its a great great experience for me! Quite a lot of first time in this trip! Drive all the way up the Great Ocean Road, stopping by the look out point..its seriously oceanic view all the way...BUT Zhi Yin was still slept most of the time I would say...We went to the starting point of the Great Ocean Road (suppose to be starting, but end point for us since we are going from another direction!) took a Group Photo before we head back to Melbourne!

End of the Trip doesn't means the end of the day, we met Shih Chin in the city, then we went to a German restaurant, name start from H.....something HB..its similar to Lowenbrau in The Rocks, Sydney...The food was nice..very very very nice..I couldn't kept saying that cz u all probably feel nothing..have to taste it by urself when u have a chance to...its located on the Chinatown Precinct in Melbourne CBD..funny thing on that night --> me n Shih Chin were trying to pay by credit card, ebcoming the joke of the day cz the waitress was looking at us when me n Shih Chin were wrestling on my card..SC took my card and hide it..BUT...BUT we did something before we fly to Tasmania! =) Hehe...

After the dinner, took some short walks around the CBD, having look around..just another day to go..Get to transfer some photo into USB before sleepiness caught me..Theregoes another beautiful day in Melbourne!

Holidayzzz...

Clear Blue Sky, Milky way of stars and galaxies...Great Oceanic View, thats what I have got during my recent holiday trip...

Its a long long trip which contained a lot of memories where I could never forget for the remaining of my life. Lets start from Leaving home from randwick to get to the Sydney Domestic airport at 10++pm on Saturday night! I met Zhi Yin's roomate for the first time in Sydney and could be the only time, who knows..anyway, stuffing my living with Zhi Yin's luggage was the last thing that I did in Blenheim house! Waiting for Chan Kit to meet up and then we headed to airport by taking 400 Burwood! Well its not an boring journey I would say, at least not for Zhi Yin..cz she punched in a blue travel ten instead of 2 Brown Travel Ten..started her journey of risk first and the last in Sydney..thinking of going home in 12days she had nothing to worried about..Fortunately..we reach Airport without any consequences o any special event..

Being in the airport, we started to look for a good spot to rest for the coming 5hours of long waiting before we can check in for the flight..Zhi Yin and I were busy brushing our teeth considering might not be able to carry the toothpaste over the custom..(we did get it thru due to the flight is domestic)..Well..Chan Kit (CK) or 'Dou San' din brush his teeth wor..haha not even in the morning before we depart..here comes the FIRST EVER around 11.20pm, we were forced to get out of the airport by the security guard due to the airport is closing down from 12pm til 4am..which means we have to stay outside of the building, out of the building during a WINTER night, 12am-4am...we did tried to get the international airport, but the earliest transport wouldnt make it for our flight at 6am..therefore we decide to stay..and thus began our venture in a Cold freezing night out of the airport building..we Talked, we had Choc Cookies..we shaked, we stand and walked a bit..but STILL we are Frozen!

Waiting and waiting, and yet still waiting for time to pass, winter cold doesn't allow us to fall asleep, at least not for me n Zhi Yin, CK did slept for a while..what a world he can still sleep..GENG!!! Finally the gate open at 4am..we rushed into the building and so happy that we are still there..taking the challenge of cold having nothing to worry when we reach Melbourne o Tasmania later on..haha By the way, this is the first time I can sleep on the flight, and its a reli good one..we reach Melbourne in a flip of eye...I am reli nervous cz I am the one who leads this time, no mistake is allow..we successfully get on a shutter bus and head to the CBD..Reaching in Franklin St, the only thing we had once we step out of the bus is 'SHAKE', and the reason is because its reli windy..poor me have to cover Zhi Yin behind my back too...Well..the next thing is to call Shih Chin..met her in joy and finally we get to her place..which is our lovely home for the next few days..She allow us to stay at her place..and the more interesting thing is she help us to call backpacker and saying we cancel our trip so that they wont charge us..she reli taught me a lesson making tat call...hahaha

Not wasting anytime, we went on with our journey..starting wondering around the street on Melbourne City..first place..Queen Victoria Market! We walked..discussing what we are going to do, But I can still remember Zhi Yin told Shih Chin that she will cook her a dinner, seafood sumore..prawn, fish...somehow she din manage to do that..I guess ZY would remember this and do it some time later in her life gua??? Keep walking and CK, ZY, and SC started to ask for COffee to heal their addiction..probably usable on SC only..haha anyway..walking from Franklin St back on Elizabeth St and all the way down the Melbourne CBD, we walked, we laughed because I keep arguing with ZY for nonsense, just for the sake of good laugh..we take picture of everywhere..even a lamp post..ZY lol...Walk and Walk and Walk..

When we felt hungry attack us..we come to Vietnamese restaurant called Mekong! we ate some noodles...well this meal we settle peacefully..will tell u the reason why i use the word 'peacefully' here later! we had reli good meal and found out tat SC and CK eat veryvery very lil....sigh...which means I have to finish everything in the end...poor me again..After settled our tummy, we keep walking..and takign pictures...went to State Library, Myer..and a lot more...walked along Queen Victoria Garden, the Arts Centre..SouthGate..have some Cake which is similar to Kaya Ball in malaysia..instead of having Kaya they would use butter, strawberry spread, honey, and lemon for spread..they came across Magic show, taking picture with Stone Man...walk all the way back to CBD on Flinder St..

Our Next Destination - Melbourne University, we bought some tram pass from 7-11 and heading northeast of the city..we took some picture under a tree, filling with bloody red flowers...its reli beautiful, and we decide to take picture under that building to pretend that we are graduating from Melb Uni instead..hahaha stay there for about hald an hour just to take a great great picture..unfortunately the best would still only be able to capture by our own eye!!
After That, dinner in Lygon St, in Cafe Cavallino..an Italian restaurant..having some great pizza, we then had some ice cream! Its always great to have ice cream during winter since it will never melt!!! THE most important thing is, we had DURIAN flavor, with two others, I cant reli remember wat is it called but one is choc with chips, another is green tea if I am not mistaken..

Its reli reli enjoyable and Its the first day of our trip! Stay Tuned!!
