End of one wave..Another is coming..

Today is the last day of presentation for this semester..just finished Bacteria and Disease presentation and it went well..since Mini proj's presentation, has been having some sort of mental stresses..Sigh...now have Biotech Report and Grant Research Proposal..

Even a pHD student never do GRP before..what a Great practice for me..hope I can go through it..The report is also a hardcore job...reli hope that everything can go thorugh quickly and fly to melbourne and tasmania soon!!!

Anyway, just read Pig head's blog, what a relief she has been safe..but somehow getting bored of her job. Be patient!! I work in supermarket for 1 and half years, in lab for 6months now, everything is sort of the same, I mean in the supermarket..just require your manpower..not much of brain stuff..But lab is diff, always brain...thats y I have headache recently...

Never have a Panda eye, not even when I am studying in TARC or UNSW, but the working time, lab time, assignment have rewarded me with a slight dark ring..omg..I reli dun hope this would affect my health..LIFE LIFE LIFE..

What is the main purpose of getting money, earning money? Is experience worth more than that? What if you have someone or something that u get hold of..like a Family! Would it change your mind..

Presentation Chain

What is the purposes of presentation? To let people know or understand some concept that they haven't reli look into? Do I need to take it as if they dun know everything? Your audience are all dumb and not understand, so please be concern and clear cut..that What I have been told by one of my lecturer in the past..

So what is my presentation and what is it all about? Summary of the presentation are as below:

1) Environmental Microbiology
Marine bacteria Pseudoalteromonas tunicata is capable of producing broad range of inhibitory compounds including antifungal, anti-larvae, antidiatom, antibacteria and etc. It appears to be one of the major focus of in the finding of bioactive compounds from the marine environment in corporating in biofouling activity. for example, AlpP is a bacteriolytic protein produced by P. tunicata that has antimicrobial properties by disrupting the inner membrane of a bacteria leading to rapid leakage of inner cell component such as iron and others and subsequently cell death is occur. How does it relate to us? It has a high potential in providing environmental friendly solution for marine biofouling problem and increase energy efficiency in shipping industry by prevention of fouling on ship surfaces. It could played a role that has highest impact to human since earth's resources is gradually depleting, providing an alternative to conserve energy resources of the earth.

2) Bacteria and Disease
The role of iron in bacterial pathogenesis is enormous in causing disease. Iorn could acts as a transcriptional regulator for Fur gene by altering the gene expression thus leading to other virulence factors to be transcribed. Iron is one of the major growth factor for bacterial growth, without iron bacterial will not survive nor multiply. Therefore bacteria has acquired several different methods to recruit iron from the environment or from host. example of iron scavenging leads to disease is the production of hemolysin by S. aureus could lyse red blood cell and releasing iron from the hemoglobin. End result is the bacteria could obtained iron while the host would having a severe damage to the system due to extensive cell lysis if the bacteria is multiplying in amount. More...

3) Marine Microbiology Project
A natural bioactive compound, Pyocyanin is produced synergistically by two distinct marine bacterial species. The isolation of marine bacteria from Hawaiian Islands to look for natural product that has antibacterial and antifungal activities. Unusual green phenotype produced leads to the study of antibacterial and antifungal assay using E. coli and S. cerevisieae. Production comes from two bacterial species, Enterobacter and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Interaction study responsible for the produciton of pyocyanin include inhibition assay, Ratio determinant assay, Small molecule induction assay and Boyden Chamber assay suggesting that a complex mechanism of metabolite exchange between two bacterial species is favorable option. Characterisation of the natural product (pyocyanin) using X-ray structure, 2D-NMR, and more also review the properties of pyocyanin. Moreover, the mode of action of the pyocyanin was tested using trancriptomic assay of yeast. Pyocyanin was found out to be the inducer of oxidative stress, cell wall damage and DNA damage as the most probable mode of action. Result showed that production of natural bioactive compounds could have been related to a bacterial communities rather than pure culture that has been practising in the past.

That's roughly what is all my project about..anyone interested in it could possibly hit a reply and comment..Thanks

Its a good rehearsal though to brainstorming any information that could be left out..but sure of cz its not everything in here...Haha

Alright, time to do stuff!

No Matter - Angel

A song that bring up all the feeling in a headache night..soon after Bacteria and Disease Mid session exam, its been a totally hectic moment where headache started to strike all in a sudden and lasted for a whole day!

However, meeting with Staffan brings good news and have got the full support from him, happy with that.

Went back to Coles to get something, met Mochtar, chat like never seen him for a very very long time.

Remember of a Song - Ming Tian Jian by Cindy Wong reminds me of another person..which is so much more feeling involved in a day.

Its been more than a day, and still I found it sank quite deep into the ocean and would never come up again..All these feeling seems to drive my day..

Time to get back to study!
